Safety & Kayak Info

Safety Training ( Pre-trip safety talks )

Before departing on any of our tours we undergo an in-depth discussion on safety protocol and techniques. We want you to feel safe and have a good time. Our experienced and trained guides take great pride in making sure you enjoy your adventure and are kept and feel safe. All tours are fully guided. You will be required to wear all given safety equipment which may include helmets /NZ industry approved lifejackets depending on which activity you choose.

What is the inflatable kayak?

The boat is a cross between a kayak and a raft. It offers the maneuverability of a kayak and the stability of a raft making them virtually impossible to tip over. They slide over and around rocks following the natural flow of the water. Their design makes them suitable for people with no previous experience to enjoy the river as they would in a raft, but it allows them the freedom to be in control themselves, thus giving you a great sense of achievement.
